There are many natural processes that occur in our bodies on a daily basis. Some of these processes create what are called free radicals. Free radicals are atoms that have lost one electron.

This loss of an electron makes the free radical very unstable and its natural process to stabilize itself is to find and additional electron. To do this, the free radical will steal an electron from the atom of a healthy stable cell. This then stabilizes the free radical, but in turn damages the once healthy cell, causing oxidation.

To stop this process from happening, antioxidants are required to eliminate free radicals. The antioxidants stabilize the free radicals and then they are eliminated through our bodies. The antioxidants found in acai berries are some of the most potent antioxidants known. In addition to their potency, the acai berry also has the highest content of antioxidants of any food.
